CodeInspire Accessibility App Privacy Policy

CodeInspire Accessibility ("the App") provides an accessibility widget that helps make your store usable by people with perception problems, cognitive impairments, and hearing or vision impairments ("the Service") to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores. This Privacy Policy describes how information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.

The App does not collect personally identifiable information about your customers or visitors. While the App provides accessibility options, it does not guarantee that your website is 100% accessible. It is a tool for improvement, and additional work may be needed to fully comply with accessibility standards.

Information the App collects and where it is stored

Store and session data. When you install the App, Shopify gives us your store's domain and an access token. The App stores only this session data on its server so it can talk to Shopify on your behalf.
Widget settings. Your widget settings, translations and accessibility statement are stored in your own Shopify store as app data (app metafields). Shopify removes this data after you uninstall the App.
Visitor preferences. Choices that visitors make in the widget (for example a larger font size) are saved only in their own browser's local storage. They are never sent to us.
Accessibility audit. When you run an audit, the public address of the page you chose is sent to Google PageSpeed Insights to analyze it. Results are shown to you and are not stored.
Billing. Subscriptions are handled by Shopify. We don't receive or store payment details.

How we use this information

We use this information to provide and operate the Service: to show the widget on your storefront, communicate with you, provide customer support, and improve the App.

Sharing your information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your information. If you are a European resident, we process your information to fulfill our contract with you or to pursue the legitimate business interests listed above. Your information may be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.

Data retention and deletion

When you uninstall the App, we delete your session data. We respond to Shopify's data deletion requests (including shop redaction 48 hours after uninstall) by deleting any remaining data we hold for your store.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page. Review it periodically for updates.
